Museum of local history Lampertheim
The local history museum of the city of Lampertheim is located in a farmstead, constructed in the year 1737th. It is in the middle of the village, in the Römerstraße. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful half-timbered houses of the 18th century. There are stables, a barn and the last completely preserved bake house including oven.
In all rooms, buildings and stables are exhibitions from around the region. Discover a wide variety of crafts, facilities and collections. You can learn many about the tobacco and asparagus growing in this region.

Welcome to the technical museum Mannheim
The “Technoseum” is one of the three biggest technical museums in Germany.
The exhibition shows 200 years of technology and social history. It stands with its experiment stations, to science and technology, for experimental understanding with fun and amazement. Come with us on an interactive journey through time!

Baroque palace and castle church
Under Elector Carl Theodor, the biggest baroque complex in Germany was completed in 1760, after forty years of construction. In this building was the cultural center of the Kurpfalz. Here was the famous chapel of Carl Theodor. The Mannheim Music School made music history.
The Old Catholic Church was the church of the Castle resident. The elector visited here daily worship. Mozart played the organ here. The castle church captivates the viewer with posh Baroque. The impressive gable relief above the portal with the “Holy Trinity” is a masterpiece of Paul Egell. The large ceiling fresco, originally by Asam Cosmas D., was reconstructed by Carolus Vocke.

Castle of Heidelberg
It is world famous and it is the epitome of German romanticism - Heidelberg Castle. Majestic sits the castle ruins 80 meters above the valley on the northern slope of the Königsstuhl. Five centuries the Electors of the Pfalz resided here.
The Ottheinrichsbau, one of the palaces of the castle, is one of the most important German Renaissance structures. Every year, millions of tourists visit the mysterious castle.

Roman town Ladenburg
Roman town Ladenburg is the oldest city in Germany on the east site of the Rhine. Here you can experience a journey through two millennia living history and culture.
Celts and Romans settled here by the Neckar more than two thousand years ago. But especially interesting are the numerous archaeological finds from the Roman period, from the former Roman town called "Lopodunum". Discover a walk in the historic town of Ladenburg.
Carl Benz, the inventor of the automobile, lived from 1905 until 1929 in Ladenburg. Here stands the Carl Benz Car Museum. We recommend you to visit this museum, because there you can admire the first automobile in the world, constructed in the year 1886th.

Much of the city with the two castles is unique.
